The Arts and Business program, often referred to as ARBUS, at the University of Waterloo, opens doors to a myriad of promising career pathways. It caters to students who may initially aspire to become lawyers but find themselves reevaluating their goals during their university journey. ARBUS serves as an ideal platform for those who are uncertain about their academic direction, straddling the realms of law and business. This program proves especially advantageous for individuals aiming for law school, as it facilitates the attainment of a high GPA, a critical requirement for admission.

ARBUS offers a wealth of co-op opportunities in the business sector, including roles as auditors, tax preparers, and business administrators. My personal aspiration is to pursue law school; however, I intend to engage in business-related co-op experiences as a contingency plan, should my career aspirations evolve.

A typical day in the life of an ARBUS student is characterized by a sense of tranquility and balance. Typically, there are only around two classes per day, with reasonable start and end times—amazing for those who cherish their morning sleep. With this schedule, students have ample free time to socialize with friends or dedicate themselves to focused study sessions. Additionally, ARBUS is a welcoming choice for students who may find final exams challenging, as the program typically entails a manageable number of finals, often limited to two per semester.
